DC37-SR Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Adam Technologies recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias to dissipate heat. A minimum of 2 oz copper thickness is recommended for the top and bottom layers. Additionally, a thermal pad on the bottom of the device should be connected to a heat sink or a large copper area to ensure efficient heat dissipation.
  • The DC37-SR requires a dual power supply with a minimum of ±12V and a maximum of ±15V. The recommended biasing scheme is to connect the V+ pin to the positive power supply and the V- pin to the negative power supply. Additionally, a 10nF capacitor should be connected between the V+ and V- pins to filter out noise and ensure stable operation.
  • The DC37-SR is rated for operation from -40°C to +85°C. However, the device's performance may degrade above +70°C, and it's recommended to derate the output power by 1dB for every 10°C above +70°C to ensure reliable operation.
  • The DC37-SR is a sensitive device and requires proper ESD protection during handling and assembly. Adam Technologies recommends using an ESD wrist strap or mat, and storing the device in an anti-static bag or container. Additionally, the device's pins should be connected to a 1kΩ resistor and a 10nF capacitor to ground to prevent ESD damage.
  • Adam Technologies recommends a soldering profile with a peak temperature of 260°C and a dwell time of 10-15 seconds. The device should be soldered using a no-clean flux and a solder with a melting point of 180-190°C. It's also recommended to use a soldering iron with a temperature control to prevent overheating the device.
