  • XP Power recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area for heat dissipation, and a minimum of 2oz copper thickness. A thermal via array under the module can also improve heat transfer.
  • To ensure reliable start-up, XP Power recommends a soft-start circuit to limit inrush current, and a sufficient input capacitance to stabilize the input voltage. A minimum input voltage of 1.5 times the nominal input voltage is also recommended.
  • The maximum allowable capacitance on the output of the ECM40UT31 is 47μF. Exceeding this value may affect the stability of the output voltage.
