ECM60UD21 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
XP Power recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area for heat dissipation, and a minimum of 2oz copper thickness. A thermal via array under the module is also recommended.
Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range, and the input capacitance is sufficient to handle the inrush current. A soft-start circuit can also be used to reduce the inrush current.
The maximum allowable capacitance is 47uF. Exceeding this value may cause instability or oscillation in the output voltage.
The ECM60UD21 is rated for operation up to 80°C ambient temperature. However, derating may be necessary for temperatures above 60°C. Consult the datasheet for derating curves.
An external OVP circuit can be implemented using a zener diode and a resistor. The zener diode voltage should be set to 1.5-2 times the nominal output voltage.
