  • A thermal pad on the bottom of the package should be connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended.
  • To ensure stability, a minimum output capacitance of 10uF with an ESR of 1ohm or less is recommended. Additionally, a 1uF ceramic capacitor should be placed close to the VIN pin to filter out noise.
  • Although the recommended maximum input voltage is 5.5V, the device can withstand up to 6.5V for a short duration (less than 1 second) without damage. However, continuous operation above 5.5V is not recommended.
  • While the device is rated for operation up to 125°C, it's recommended to derate the output current by 50% when operating above 85°C to ensure reliability and prevent thermal shutdown.
  • To minimize EMI, use a shielded inductor, keep the switching node (SW pin) away from sensitive analog circuits, and use a common-mode choke or ferrite bead on the input lines.
