  • TDK recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane for the ICS-40730. The device should be placed near the center of the board, and the input and output capacitors should be placed as close to the device as possible.
  • The ICS-40730 has a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, which should be connected to a thermal plane on the PCB. A thermal interface material (TIM) can be used to improve heat transfer between the device and the PCB. Additionally, the PCB should be designed to allow for good airflow around the device.
  • TDK recommends using a 10uF to 22uF ceramic capacitor with an X7R or X5R dielectric as the input capacitor. The capacitor should be placed as close to the VIN pin as possible and should have a low equivalent series resistance (ESR) to minimize voltage ripple.
  • The output voltage of the ICS-40730 can be adjusted by changing the value of the feedback resistors (RFB1 and RFB2). The output voltage is calculated using the formula: VOUT = 0.8V x (1 + RFB2/RFB1). The resistors should be chosen to ensure that the output voltage is within the recommended range of 0.8V to 3.3V.
  • The maximum input voltage that can be applied to the ICS-40730 is 6.5V. Exceeding this voltage may cause damage to the device.
