ISL28291FRUZ-T7 - Renesas Electronics

Description: The  ISL28291 is a tiny, dual, ultra-low noise, ultra-low distortion operational amplifier. It is fully specified to operate down to +3V single supply. This amplifier has outputs that swing rail-to-rail and an input common mode voltage that extends to ground (ground sensing). The device is unity gain stable with an input referred voltage noise of 1.7nV/√Hz. Both parts feature 0.00018% THD+N at 1kHz. The ISL28291 is available in the 8 Ld SOIC, 10 Ld 1.8mm x 1.4mm UTQFN and 10 Ld MSOP packages. All devices ar

ISL28291FRUZ-T7 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate analog and digital power plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital components separate and use a star-grounding configuration to minimize noise.
  • Ensure the amplifier is properly compensated by adding a capacitor (typically 10-100nF) between the output and the inverting input. Also, use a low-ESR capacitor for power supply decoupling and keep the layout compact to minimize parasitic inductance.
  • The ISL28291FRUZ-T7 can drive up to 1nF of capacitive load. However, it's recommended to limit the capacitive load to 470pF or less to ensure stability and prevent oscillations.
  • Use a voltage clamp or a TVS diode to protect the amplifier from overvoltage. For ESD protection, use a series resistor and a capacitor to slow down the ESD pulse, and consider adding an ESD protection device such as a diode array.
  • Power up the amplifier in the following sequence: VCC, then VIN. Power down in the reverse sequence: VIN, then VCC. This ensures that the amplifier is properly biased and prevents latch-up or damage.
