IW1602-10B Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Renesas provides a recommended PCB layout guide in their application note (R01AN3793EJ0100) which includes thermal vias, thermal pads, and heat sink recommendations to ensure optimal thermal performance.
The IW1602-10B has a built-in overcurrent protection feature that can be enabled by setting the OCP pin high. Additionally, an external overcurrent protection circuit can be implemented using a sense resistor and a comparator to detect overcurrent conditions.
Renesas recommends using a 10uF to 22uF ceramic capacitor with an X7R or X5R dielectric as the input capacitor. The capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the VIN pin to minimize noise and ensure stable operation.
The output voltage of the IW1602-10B can be adjusted by connecting a resistor divider network between the VOUT pin and the GND pin. The resistor values can be calculated using the formula provided in the datasheet.
