STMicroelectronics recommends a 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with a thermal pad connected to a large copper area on the bottom layer to dissipate heat efficiently.
Monitor the junction temperature (TJ) and ensure it stays within the recommended range of -40°C to 150°C. Also, ensure the input voltage (VIN) is within the recommended range of 2.5V to 5.5V.
A 1uF to 10uF ceramic capacitor (X5R or X7R dielectric) is recommended for input decoupling, placed as close to the VIN pin as possible.
Use a shielded inductor, keep the PCB layout compact, and use a common-mode choke or ferrite bead on the output to reduce EMI. Also, ensure good grounding and decoupling practices.
The LD39020ADTPU18R can deliver up to 2A of output current, but it's recommended to derate the output current based on the ambient temperature and PCB thermal design.
