LM399H Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The recommended input voltage range for the LM399H is 4.5V to 40V, but it can operate with input voltages as low as 3.5V with reduced performance.
To ensure stability, a minimum output capacitance of 10uF is recommended, and the output capacitor should be placed as close to the output pin as possible. Additionally, the input capacitor should be at least 1uF and placed close to the input pin.
The maximum output current of the LM399H is 20mA, but it's recommended to limit the output current to 10mA for optimal performance and stability.
To protect the LM399H from reverse voltage, a diode (such as a 1N4001-1N4007) can be connected in parallel with the input capacitor, with the anode connected to the input pin and the cathode connected to ground.
The LM399H is rated for operation from -40°C to 125°C, but the accuracy and stability of the output voltage may degrade at extreme temperatures.
