Texas Instruments provides a recommended PCB layout in the datasheet, but it's also recommended to follow general best practices for switching regulator layout, such as keeping the input and output capacitors close to the IC, using a solid ground plane, and minimizing trace lengths and widths.
To ensure stability, make sure to follow the recommended component values and layout, and also add a 10nF capacitor between the VOUT and GND pins to improve stability. Additionally, ensure that the input voltage is within the recommended range and that the output capacitor is of sufficient value and type.
Although the datasheet specifies a maximum input voltage of 15V, it's recommended to limit the input voltage to 12V to ensure reliable operation and to prevent damage to the IC.
The LM9036MM-3.3 is rated for operation up to 125°C, but it's recommended to derate the output current and input voltage at high temperatures to ensure reliable operation. Additionally, ensure that the PCB and surrounding components are also rated for high-temperature operation.
The output voltage tolerance is specified as ±2% in the datasheet. To calculate the output voltage tolerance, multiply the output voltage (3.3V) by the tolerance percentage (2%). For example, the output voltage tolerance would be ±66mV.
