LMC660AIMX Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Texas Instruments recommends a star-ground configuration, with the analog and digital grounds separated and connected at a single point. Additionally, keep the input and output traces short and away from digital signals, and use a solid ground plane to reduce noise.
  • Power up the VCC pin first, followed by the VDD pin. When powering down, reverse the sequence. Ensure that the VCC pin is powered down before the VDD pin to prevent latch-up. A power-up/down sequencing circuit can be used to ensure proper sequencing.
  • The LMC660AIMX can drive up to 100pF of capacitive load. Exceeding this limit can cause oscillations or instability. To ensure stability, add a series resistor (Rs) to the output, and calculate Rs using the formula: Rs = 10 / (2 * π * f * C), where f is the frequency and C is the capacitive load.
  • Use the gain-bandwidth product (GBP) to determine the maximum gain and bandwidth. For example, if the GBP is 1MHz, the maximum gain is 100 at 10kHz or 10 at 100kHz. Adjust the gain resistors (Rf and Rg) to achieve the desired gain and bandwidth, while ensuring stability and noise considerations.
  • The LMC660AIMX has a maximum junction temperature (TJ) of 150°C. Ensure good thermal conduction by using a heat sink or thermal pad, and keep the device away from heat sources. Monitor the device's thermal performance using the thermal resistance (RθJA) and ensure that the operating temperature is within the specified range.
