LTR-4206 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias under the IC is recommended. This helps to dissipate heat efficiently and reduces thermal resistance.
  • To ensure stable output voltage regulation, it is recommended to use a high-quality output capacitor with low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) and a minimum capacitance of 10uF. Additionally, the input capacitor should be placed close to the VIN pin to reduce noise and ripple.
  • Although the datasheet specifies a maximum input voltage of 6V, it is recommended to limit the input voltage to 5.5V to ensure reliable operation and prevent damage to the IC.
  • The output voltage of the LTR-4206 can be calculated using the formula: VOUT = 0.8V x (1 + R1/R2), where R1 and R2 are the resistors connected to the FB pin. The output voltage can be adjusted by changing the ratio of R1 and R2.
  • The EN (Enable) pin is used to enable or disable the LTR-4206. When the EN pin is pulled high (above 2.5V), the IC is enabled, and when it is pulled low (below 0.8V), the IC is disabled. This pin can be used to implement power-saving modes or to turn off the IC during shutdown.
