M-C308 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Cincon recommends a 4-layer PCB with a dedicated ground plane and thermal vias to ensure efficient heat dissipation. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended for the power traces. Additionally, a thermal pad on the bottom of the module can be connected to a heat sink or a thermal interface material for improved thermal management.
  • To ensure EMC, Cincon recommends following proper PCB design and layout guidelines, using a metal enclosure, and implementing EMI filtering on the input and output lines. Additionally, the module should be placed at least 10mm away from other components and cables to minimize electromagnetic interference.
  • Cincon recommends limiting the input ripple current to less than 10% of the maximum input current to ensure reliable operation and prevent overheating. Excessive ripple current can reduce the lifespan of the input capacitors and affect the overall performance of the module.
  • While the M-C308 is designed to be robust, Cincon recommends taking additional precautions when using the module in high-vibration environments. This may include using a secure mounting mechanism, potting the module with a vibration-dampening material, and ensuring that the PCB is properly secured to the enclosure.
  • Cincon recommends using a fuse with a rating of 1.5 to 2 times the maximum input current to ensure protection against overcurrent conditions. The fuse should be placed as close to the input terminals as possible to minimize the risk of damage to the module.
