Description:The MAEU02-HI series is a range of isolated 2W DC-DC converter modules in SIP-7 package which feature a high I/O isolation voltage rated for 5700VDC, using for electricity and energy applications. There are 40 models available for 5, 12, 15 and 24V input. These converters offer a cost-effective solution for wind turbine, solar panel, transportation systems, industrial control equipments where a high I/O isolation is required.
The recommended PCB layout involves placing the DC-DC converter near the input voltage source, using a solid ground plane, and keeping the input and output capacitors close to the converter. For thermal management, ensure good airflow, use a heat sink if necessary, and avoid blocking the airflow around the converter.
To ensure EMC and EMI compliance, follow the recommended PCB layout, use a metal shield or screen around the converter, and add EMI filters or common-mode chokes as needed. Also, ensure that the converter is placed at least 10mm away from other components and cables.
The maximum allowable capacitance for the input capacitor is 220uF, and for the output capacitor, it is 470uF. Exceeding these values may affect the converter's stability and performance.
The MAEU02-05S05HI is rated for industrial temperature range (-40°C to 85°C). For high-reliability or high-temperature applications, consider using a converter with a wider temperature range or a higher reliability rating, such as the MAEU02-05S05HI-HR or MAEU02-05S05HI-HT.
To troubleshoot common issues, check the input voltage, output load, and PCB layout. Verify that the input and output capacitors are within the recommended values and that the converter is properly soldered. Also, check for signs of overheating, such as a burnt smell or discoloration.
