  • A good layout practice is to keep the input capacitors close to the VIN pin, and the output capacitors close to the VOUT pin. Also, keep the high-frequency switching components (e.g., inductor, diode) away from the sensitive analog circuits (e.g., feedback network). A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane is recommended.
  • Choose an inductor with a high saturation current rating (at least 1.5x the peak current), low DC resistance (DCR), and a high self-resonant frequency (SRF). The inductor value should be chosen based on the desired switching frequency, output voltage, and output current.   • The MAX17215G+T has a built-in OVP threshold of 1.2x the output voltage setting.
