  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate analog ground plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a low-ESR capacitor for decoupling and place it close to the device.
  • The MAX31856MUD+T has an internal CJC sensor. Connect the CJC pin to a thermocouple or a thermistor to measure the ambient temperature. The device will automatically compensate for the cold junction temperature.
  • The MAX31856MUD+T supports K, J, T, N, E, and B type thermocouples. Use a thermocouple with a high-temperature rating and a shielded cable to minimize noise. Connect the thermocouple to the device's T+ and T- pins.
