A symmetrical layout with the sensor at the center, and a solid ground plane underneath the sensor is recommended. Avoid routing signals under the sensor, and keep the PCB as compact as possible.
Calibration involves applying a known acceleration to the sensor and adjusting the offset and sensitivity registers accordingly. A calibration procedure can be found in the application note AN-M-09.
The MXR7305VF can measure accelerations up to ±10g, but the maximum range can be limited by the power supply voltage and the output data rate.
