Description:The PA09 is a 5A, 80V power operational amplifier designed to drive a variety of loads from DC through the video frequency range. Excellent input accuracy is achieved with a dual monolithic FET input transistor which is cascoded by two high voltage transistors to provide outstanding common mode characteristics. Apex Microtechnology recommends a 4-layer PCB with a thermal plane on the inner layer, and a minimum of 2 oz copper thickness. A heat sink or thermal pad is also recommended to maintain a junction temperature below 125°C.
To ensure stability, Apex recommends a minimum output capacitance of 10uF, and a maximum output inductance of 100nH. Additionally, a snubber circuit can be added to prevent oscillation.
The maximum SOA for the PA09 is 100V, 10A, and 1000W. Operating beyond these limits can result in device damage or failure.
Apex recommends using a voltage clamp or overvoltage protection (OVP) circuit to prevent voltage exceeding 100V. Additionally, a current sense resistor and overcurrent protection (OCP) circuit can be used to prevent current exceeding 10A.
The PA09 should be stored in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Handling should be done with anti-static precautions, and the device should be soldered within 6 months of receipt.
