CUI recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area for heat dissipation, and a thermal management system with a heat sink and thermal interface material to keep the junction temperature below 125°C.
The PBO-15C-5 has built-in input voltage transient protection, but it's still recommended to add external transient voltage suppressors (TVS) or metal-oxide varistors (MOVs) to protect against high-energy transients and spikes.
