  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output capacitors close to the IC, and use short, wide traces for the high-current paths.
  • Monitor the input voltage, output current, and junction temperature to ensure they are within the specified limits. Use thermal management techniques, such as heat sinks or thermal interfaces, to keep the junction temperature below 125°C.
  • A low-ESR ceramic capacitor (e.g., X5R or X7R) with a value of 10-22 μF is recommended. The capacitor should be placed close to the VIN pin and have a voltage rating of at least 1.5 times the maximum input voltage.
  • Use a low-pass filter with a cutoff frequency above the switching frequency (typically 1-2 MHz). Choose inductors with low DCR and high saturation current. The output capacitor should have low ESR and be rated for the output voltage and current.
  • The EN (enable) pin is an active-high input that enables or disables the converter. Connect EN to VIN through a 1 kΩ resistor and a 10 nF capacitor to filter out noise. Tie EN to GND to disable the converter.
