Bivar recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the PLP2-188, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently.
Use a soldering iron with a temperature of 250°C to 260°C, and apply a small amount of solder paste to the pads. Avoid overheating or applying excessive force, which can damage the component.
The maximum allowable voltage drop is 2.5V, as specified in the datasheet. Exceeding this voltage drop may reduce the component's lifespan or cause it to fail.
While the PLP2-188 is designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures, it's not recommended for use in high-humidity environments (>80% RH) without proper protection, such as conformal coating or potting.
Handle the PLP2-188 with ESD-protective equipment, such as wrist straps or mats, to prevent damage from static electricity. Avoid touching the component's pins or leads with bare hands.
