  • Nexperia recommends a PCB layout with a thermal pad connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2 oz copper thickness is recommended. Refer to the Nexperia application note AN11173 for more details.
  • Follow the recommended soldering profile: peak temperature 260°C, time above 217°C 30s, and time above 240°C 10s. Use a solder with a melting point above 217°C. Ensure the device is properly aligned and the thermal pad is soldered to the PCB.
  • The maximum allowed voltage on the input pin is 6V, which is the absolute maximum rating. However, for normal operation, the recommended input voltage range is 2.5V to 5.5V.
  • The output voltage ripple can be calculated using the formula: ΔVout = (Iout * ESL) / (Cout * fsw), where ESL is the equivalent series inductance of the output capacitor, Cout is the output capacitance, fsw is the switching frequency, and Iout is the output current.
  • The minimum ESR required for the output capacitor is 10 mΩ. However, a lower ESR is recommended to ensure stability and minimize output voltage ripple.
