To ensure reliable startup and shutdown, CUI Devices recommends applying a soft-start circuit or a ramp-up/ramp-down voltage to the input pin, and using a capacitor (e.g., 10uF) to filter the output voltage.
The maximum allowable capacitance on the output of the PP3-050A is 47uF. Exceeding this value may cause instability or oscillation in the converter.
While the PP3-050A is rated for operation up to 85°C, CUI Devices recommends derating the output power by 2% per degree above 70°C to ensure reliable operation in high-temperature environments.
To troubleshoot issues with the output voltage, check the input voltage, output load, and PCB layout for any anomalies. Also, verify that the output voltage is within the specified range (±5%) and that the converter is not overheating.
