A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. Ensure a minimum of 1mm clearance around the device for airflow and heat dissipation.
Use a low-impedance current sense resistor (e.g., 1mΩ) and ensure the sense lines are twisted and shielded to minimize noise. Also, use a high-precision ADC with a high common-mode rejection ratio.
A 10uF to 22uF X7R or X5R ceramic capacitor is recommended, with a voltage rating of at least 25V. Ensure the capacitor is placed close to the VIN pin and has a low ESL (Equivalent Series Inductance).
Use an external overvoltage protection (OVP) circuit with a zener diode or a dedicated OVP IC. The PX3517 has an internal OVP, but it's recommended to add external protection for added reliability.
The maximum ambient temperature for the PX3517 is 85°C. However, the device can operate up to 125°C junction temperature. Ensure proper thermal design and heat sinking to maintain a safe operating temperature.
