  • MORNSUN recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area connected to the GND pin to dissipate heat. A minimum of 1 oz copper thickness is recommended. Additionally, keeping the PCB layer as close as possible to the QA04's thermal pad can improve thermal performance.
  • To ensure stable and accurate output voltage, it's essential to decouple the input and output with suitable capacitors (e.g., 10uF ceramic capacitors). Additionally, keeping the input voltage within the recommended range and minimizing noise on the input line can help maintain output voltage stability.
  • The QA04 can drive a maximum capacitive load of 10uF. Exceeding this value may cause instability or oscillation. If a larger capacitive load is required, consider adding a series resistor or using a different DC-DC converter model.
  • To protect the QA04 from input voltage surges or spikes, consider adding a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode or a varistor in parallel with the input capacitor. This can help absorb or clamp voltage transients and prevent damage to the QA04.
