A thermal pad on the bottom of the package should be connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended.
The device requires a stable input voltage (VIN) and a proper bias voltage (VBIAS) to operate within the recommended operating conditions. Ensure VIN is within the specified range (4.5V to 16V) and VBIAS is set to 1.2V ± 0.1V.
A 10uF to 22uF ceramic capacitor (X5R or X7R dielectric) is recommended for input decoupling, placed as close to the VIN pin as possible.
Implement overvoltage protection (OVP) and overcurrent protection (OCP) circuits to prevent damage from voltage surges and excessive current. A fuse or PTC can be used for OCP, and a TVS diode or zener diode for OVP.
The recommended operating temperature range for RAF040P01TCL is -40°C to 125°C. Ensure the device is operated within this range to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
