  • RECOM recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area for heat dissipation, and a minimum of 2oz copper thickness. A thermal via array under the module can also improve heat dissipation.
  • Ensure that the input voltage is within the specified range, and that the input capacitance is sufficient to handle the inrush current. A soft-start circuit can also be used to reduce the inrush current.
  • The maximum allowed capacitance on the output is 220uF. Exceeding this value may cause instability or oscillation in the converter.
  • The RP30-2405SF is rated for operation up to 80°C ambient temperature. However, derating may be necessary for temperatures above 60°C. Consult the datasheet for derating curves.
  • Use a TVS diode or a transient voltage suppressor on the input to protect the converter from voltage transients. Ensure that the TVS diode is rated for the maximum expected transient voltage.
