RECOM recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area connected to the module's thermal pad to ensure good heat dissipation. A minimum of 1 oz copper thickness is recommended, and the copper area should be connected to a solid ground plane to reduce thermal resistance.
The input capacitors should be derated according to the module's input voltage and ripple current. RECOM recommends using capacitors with a voltage rating of at least 1.5 times the maximum input voltage, and a ripple current rating of at least 2 times the maximum input current.
The recommended input fuse rating is 5A slow-blow or 3A fast-acting, depending on the system's fault current requirements. However, the fuse rating should be determined based on the specific application's requirements and should be coordinated with the module's overcurrent protection.
