The recommended PCB layout for optimal thermal performance is to have a large copper area connected to the tab of the module, and to use multiple vias to dissipate heat to the other side of the PCB. A thermal pad or heat sink can also be used to improve heat dissipation.
To ensure proper soldering, use a soldering iron with a temperature of 250-270°C, and apply a small amount of solder paste to the pads. Use a soldering technique that minimizes the time the iron is in contact with the module. Avoid applying excessive force or pressure, which can damage the module.
The recommended input capacitor value is 10-22uF, and the type should be a low-ESR ceramic or film capacitor. The capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the input pins of the module.
To protect the module from overvoltage and undervoltage conditions, use a voltage supervisor or a voltage monitor IC to monitor the input voltage and shut down the module if the voltage exceeds the recommended range. Additionally, consider using a TVS diode or a voltage clamp to protect the module from voltage spikes and transients.
The maximum allowed capacitance on the output of the module is 10uF. Exceeding this value can cause instability or oscillation in the module.
