The recommended operating temperature range for the S2386-5K is -20°C to 40°C. However, it can operate up to 80°C with reduced sensitivity.
Handle the S2386-5K by the ceramic package only, avoiding touching the optical surface or the wire bonds. Use an anti-static wrist strap or mat to prevent electrostatic discharge damage.
The recommended soldering temperature is 260°C (500°F) and the recommended soldering time is 3 seconds or less. Use a solder with a melting point below 260°C.
The S2386-5K is not hermetically sealed, so it's not recommended for use in high-humidity environments. If you must use it in a humid environment, apply a conformal coating to protect the device.
Use a soft, dry brush or a lint-free cloth to gently remove any debris from the optical surface. Avoid using chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, or high-pressure air, which can damage the device.
