Bourns recommends a symmetrical PCB layout with a solid ground plane, and keeping the input and output traces as short as possible to minimize parasitic inductance and capacitance.
Use a soldering iron with a temperature of 250°C to 260°C, and apply a small amount of solder to the pads. Ensure the inductor is centered and the leads are not bent or twisted during soldering.
The maximum allowable voltage across the inductor is 2500Vrms, as specified in the datasheet. Exceeding this voltage may cause damage or failure.
The SF-3812FG2500T-2 is rated for operation up to 125°C. However, derating may be necessary for temperatures above 85°C. Consult the datasheet and Bourns' application notes for more information.
