Bivar recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the SLP-2 package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2 oz copper thickness is recommended.

Bivar recommends using a soldering temperature of 260°C (500°F) for 3-5 seconds, and a soldering iron with a tip temperature of 350°C (662°F). Avoid using excessive soldering temperature or time to prevent damage to the device.

The maximum allowable voltage drop across the SLP-2 is 2.5V. Exceeding this voltage drop may reduce the device's reliability and lifespan.
