Vishay recommends a PCB layout with a thermal pad connected to a large copper area to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2 oz copper thickness is recommended, and the thermal pad should be connected to a ground plane or a heat sink.
To ensure reliable soldering, Vishay recommends using a soldering iron with a temperature of 250°C to 260°C, and a soldering time of 3 seconds to 5 seconds. The component should be soldered to a PCB with a solder mask and a solderability preservative applied.
The maximum allowable voltage stress on the TE1205 is 1.5 times the rated voltage, but not exceeding 1500 V. Exceeding this voltage may lead to premature failure or reduced reliability.
The TE1205 is designed for low-frequency applications up to 100 kHz. Using it in high-frequency applications may lead to increased power losses and reduced performance. Vishay recommends using a different component, such as the TE1305, for high-frequency applications.
The TE1205 should be stored in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. During shipping, the component should be protected from mechanical stress, vibration, and electrostatic discharge (ESD).
