A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a decoupling capacitor (e.g., 100nF) close to the VCC pin.
The thermal shutdown feature is activated when the junction temperature exceeds 150°C. To handle this, ensure good heat dissipation, use a heat sink if necessary, and monitor the device temperature using the TSD pin.
Use a low-pass filter with a cutoff frequency below 10 kHz to filter out high-frequency noise. A simple RC filter with R = 1 kΩ and C = 10 nF can be used.
Perform a self-calibration by applying a known magnetic field and adjusting the offset and sensitivity registers accordingly. Refer to the application note for detailed calibration procedures.
The maximum allowable magnetic field strength is ±130 mT. Exceeding this limit may cause the device to saturate or provide incorrect readings.
