TMCS1100A2QDR Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital sections separate, and use a common mode filter to reduce noise.
  • Use a low-impedance current sense resistor (RSENSE) and ensure it is placed close to the device. Also, use a Kelvin connection to the sense resistor to minimize parasitic inductance.
  • The maximum allowed voltage on the VDD pin is 3.6V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
  • Connect the sense resistor (RSENSE) between the VIN and VOUT pins. Configure the device for bidirectional sensing by setting the DIR pin high or using the SPI interface to set the direction register.
  • The TRIM pin is used to adjust the gain of the current sense amplifier. It can be used to calibrate the device for optimal performance.
