UC3872M Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • TI recommends a compact layout with the controller, power FETs, and output filter components placed close together. Keep the high-current paths short and use a solid ground plane to reduce EMI. Place the controller away from the power FETs and output filter to minimize noise coupling.
  • Ensure the compensation network is properly designed and implemented. Use the recommended compensation components and values from the datasheet. Also, make sure the output filter is properly damped and the output voltage is within the recommended range.
  • The maximum allowable voltage on the VCC pin is 15V. To protect it from overvoltage, use a voltage regulator or a zener diode clamp to limit the voltage to 15V or less. Additionally, ensure the input voltage to the regulator is within the recommended range.
