UCC5350MCD Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, separate analog and digital grounds, and a decoupling capacitor (e.g., 10uF) between VCC and GND is recommended. Keep the layout compact, and use a shielded enclosure if possible.
  • Use a low-ESR capacitor (e.g., 10uF) between VCC and GND, and a 1uF capacitor between VCC and AVCC. Ensure the power supply is stable and can provide the required current. Add a 10kΩ resistor between VCC and AVCC for additional filtering.
  • The UCC5350MCD can support clock frequencies up to 40 MHz, but the recommended frequency is 20 MHz for optimal performance and reduced EMI.
  • Use the Power-Down mode (PD) to reduce power consumption. Set the PD pin high to enter Power-Down mode, and use the Wake-Up pin to exit this mode. You can also use the Clock-Stop mode to reduce power consumption during idle periods.
  • The recommended operating temperature range for the UCC5350MCD is -40°C to 85°C. However, the device can operate up to 125°C with reduced performance and reliability.
