  • Vicor recommends a 2-layer PCB with a solid copper plane on the bottom layer for heat sinking, and a minimum of 2 oz copper thickness. Additionally, a thermal relief pattern around the device's thermal pad is recommended to ensure good thermal conductivity.
  • To ensure reliable start-up, Vicor recommends a soft-start circuit to limit the inrush current during power-up. A minimum of 10uF capacitance on the input and output rails is also recommended to filter out noise and ensure stable operation.
