Description:H-bridge Drivers High current series: BD62222HFP is full bridge driver for brush motor applications. This IC can operate at a wide range of power-supply voltages (from 6V to 27V), supporting output currents of up to 2.5A. MOS transistors in the output stage allow for PWM signal control. The replacement is also easy because of the pin compatible with BD623XHFP series.
ROHM recommends a 4-layer PCB with a thermal relief pattern on the bottom layer, and a solid ground plane on the top layer to minimize thermal resistance.
To ensure stable operation, ROHM recommends using a capacitor with a low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) and a capacitance value between 10uF to 100uF. Additionally, a 1uF to 10uF ceramic capacitor in parallel with the main capacitor can help reduce oscillation.
The maximum allowed voltage on the EN pin is 6V. Exceeding this voltage may cause damage to the device.
While the BD62222HFP-TR is rated for operation up to 105°C, ROHM recommends derating the output current and voltage to ensure reliable operation in high-temperature environments.
To troubleshoot oscillation or instability issues, check the PCB layout, output capacitor selection, and input voltage ripple. Ensure that the input voltage is within the recommended range, and the output capacitor is properly selected and placed.
