  • The maximum voltage that can be applied to the VM pin is 16V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
  • To configure the DRV8300 for 3-phase motor control, connect the motor windings to the OUTA, OUTB, and OUTC pins. Set the MODE pin to 3-phase mode (MODE = 1) and configure the dead-time and blanking time using the DT and BLNK pins.
  • The nFAULT pin is an active-low fault indicator that signals a fault condition, such as overcurrent, overtemperature, or undervoltage. It can be used to shut down the motor or trigger an interrupt in the microcontroller.
  • The current limit of the DRV8300 can be adjusted by connecting a resistor (RILIM) between the ILIM pin and GND. The current limit is inversely proportional to the value of RILIM.
  • To ensure proper thermal performance, it is recommended to use a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and to place the DRV8300 near the motor terminals. A heat sink may be required for high-current applications.
