Description:The PS2703-1 is an optically coupled isolator containing a GaAs light emitting diode and an NPN silicon phototransistor. This is mounted in a plastic SOP (Small Outline Package) for high density applications. This package has shield effect to cut off ambient light.
A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital sections separate, and use a ferrite bead or a 10uF capacitor to filter the power supply.
Use a metal shield or a shielded enclosure to reduce electromagnetic radiation. Ensure proper grounding, and use a common-mode choke or a ferrite bead to filter the power supply. Follow the recommended PCB layout and component placement.
The maximum allowed voltage on the analog input pins is VCC + 0.3V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
The POR and BOR functions are enabled by default. To disable them, tie the POR/BOR pin to VCC. Ensure a stable power supply and a proper reset circuit to prevent unwanted resets.
The recommended clock frequency is 12MHz. Use a 12MHz crystal oscillator with a load capacitance of 18pF to 22pF. Ensure the oscillator circuit is properly decoupled and shielded.
