  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate analog ground plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a star topology for the power supply connections and keep the input and output traces short and direct.
  • The ADR5045BKSZ-R2 is factory-calibrated, but it's recommended to add an external trim pin (TRIM) to adjust the output voltage to the desired value. Connect a 10kΩ potentiometer between the TRIM pin and the VOUT pin, and adjust the potentiometer to achieve the desired output voltage.
  • The recommended input voltage range is 4.5V to 18V. The output voltage is regulated and remains stable as long as the input voltage is within this range.   • Add an external current-limiting resistor (RCL) in series with the input voltage to limit the current to 20mA or less. Also, ensure good thermal conductivity by using a heat sink or a thermally conductive PCB material. Monitor the device temperature and shut down the device if it exceeds 125°C.
  • The ADR5045BKSZ-R2 is rated for operation up to 125°C. However, the output voltage accuracy and stability may degrade at high temperatures. For applications above 85°C, consider using a thermally compensated voltage reference or a more temperature-stable alternative.
