  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate analog ground plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a low-impedance path for the analog signals and keep the digital signals away from the analog signals.
  • Use a low-jitter clock source with a frequency of 2.5 GHz or less. The clock input should be differential and should be terminated with a 100-ohm resistor. The clock signal should be routed close to the device and should not be routed near the analog signals.
  • Use a combination of ceramic and electrolytic capacitors to decouple the power supply. Place a 0.1-uF ceramic capacitor close to the device and a 10-uF electrolytic capacitor further away. Use a low-ESR capacitor for the analog power supply and a separate capacitor for the digital power supply.
  • The device has a thermal pad on the bottom that should be connected to a thermal plane on the PCB. Use a thermal interface material (TIM) to improve heat transfer between the device and the thermal plane. Ensure good airflow around the device to prevent overheating.
  • Use a low-pass filter or a band-pass filter to condition the input signal. The filter should be designed to reject out-of-band noise and to match the input impedance of the device. Use a buffer amplifier if the input signal is weak or if the source impedance is high.
