  • Texas Instruments recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and to keep analog and digital signals separate. Use short, direct traces for analog signals, and avoid crossing digital signals over analog signals. Also, decouple the AVDD and DVDD pins with 0.1uF capacitors.
  • Use a low-jitter clock source, and ensure the clock signal is clean and free of noise. Use a clock frequency that is a multiple of the sampling frequency to minimize jitter. Also, use a series resistor (e.g., 22 ohms) to terminate the clock signal.
  • Power up the AVDD pin first, followed by the DVDD pin. Ensure that the AVDD pin is stable before applying a clock signal. Also, ensure that the digital power (DVDD) is powered up before the analog power (AVDD) is powered down.
  • During power-down or reset, the SDO pin may float or go high impedance. To avoid this, connect a 1k ohm pull-down resistor to the SDO pin to ensure it remains low during power-down or reset.
