Abracon recommends a symmetrical PCB layout with a solid ground plane underneath the oscillator to minimize noise and radiation. A minimum of 10 mil clearance around the device is recommended to prevent electrical noise coupling.
To ensure reliable startup, Abracon recommends a power-up ramp time of 1 ms or slower, and a power supply voltage of 1.8V to 3.3V. Additionally, a 10 kΩ to 100 kΩ pull-up resistor on the output pin can help ensure startup.
The ASA2-48.000MHZ-L-T has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, but it can be customized for extended temperature ranges upon request.
Abracon recommends using a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode or a multi-layer varistor (MLV) for ESD protection. The device itself has some level of ESD protection, but additional protection is recommended to ensure reliability.
The ASA2-48.000MHZ-L-T outputs a CMOS-compatible square wave signal with a typical rise and fall time of 5 ns or less.
