  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output capacitors close to the IC, and use short, wide traces for the power paths. Refer to the TI application note 'BQ24230RGTR PCB Layout Guidelines' for more details.
  • Choose X5R or X7R ceramic capacitors with a voltage rating of at least 1.5 times the maximum input voltage. For the input capacitor, a 10uF to 22uF capacitor is recommended. For the output capacitor, a 10uF to 47uF capacitor is recommended. Ensure the capacitors are placed close to the IC and have a low ESR.
