DAC7811IDGSR Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • The recommended power-up sequence is to apply VCC first, followed by the digital supply (VDD), and then the analog supply (VREF). This ensures proper device operation and prevents latch-up.
  • To ensure accurate voltage output, it's essential to use a stable and low-noise reference voltage (VREF) and to decouple the analog supply (VREF) and digital supply (VDD) with suitable capacitors. Additionally, ensure that the output voltage is within the specified range (0 to VREF) and that the output current is within the specified limit (5 mA).
  • The maximum clock frequency for the DAC7811 is 40 MHz. However, it's recommended to operate the device at a clock frequency of 20 MHz or less to ensure reliable operation and to minimize power consumption.
  • To enter power-down mode, assert the PD pin low. In power-down mode, the device consumes minimal power, and the output voltage is disconnected from the output pin. When exiting power-down mode, ensure that the PD pin is de-asserted (set high) before applying a new input code to the device.
  • The CLR (Clear) pin is used to asynchronously clear the input register and the DAC register. When the CLR pin is asserted low, the input register and the DAC register are cleared, and the output voltage is set to 0 V. This pin can be used to reset the device or to implement a power-on reset function.
