DRV8350SRTVT Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • The maximum voltage that can be applied to the VM pin is 50V, but it's recommended to keep it below 40V for reliable operation.
  • To configure the DRV8350 for 3-phase motor control, connect the 3-phase motor windings to the OUTA, OUTB, and OUTC pins. Then, use the SPI interface to configure the device for 3-phase operation. Refer to the application note SLVAUH7 for more details.
  • The VREG pin is an internal 5V regulator output that can be used to power external circuitry. To use it, connect a 1uF capacitor between VREG and AGND, and ensure that the total current drawn from VREG does not exceed 10mA.
  • To implement overcurrent protection, connect a sense resistor in series with the motor windings and connect the sense resistor to the IS pin. Then, use the SPI interface to set the overcurrent threshold and configure the device to respond to overcurrent events.
