IL3585 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • NVE recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane for the VCC and GND pins. The input and output tracks should be kept short and away from noise sources. A sample layout is available in the IL3585 evaluation board documentation.
  • The IL3585 requires a stable VCC supply between 4.5V and 5.5V. A 0.1uF decoupling capacitor should be placed close to the VCC pin, and a 10kΩ resistor should be connected between the VCC and GND pins to ensure proper biasing.
  • The maximum allowable current through the output pins of the IL3585 is 20mA. Exceeding this current may cause damage to the device or affect its performance.
  • The IL3585 has built-in ESD protection, but it is still recommended to follow proper ESD handling procedures when handling the device. A minimum of 1kΩ resistance should be placed in series with the input pins to prevent ESD damage.
