IMB3AT110 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • ROHM recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended, and the thermal pad should be connected to a ground plane or a dedicated heat sink.
  • To ensure stable operation with a high-impedance input signal, ROHM recommends adding a 1kΩ to 10kΩ resistor in series with the input signal to reduce the impedance. Additionally, a 10nF to 100nF capacitor can be added in parallel with the input signal to filter out high-frequency noise.
  • Although the datasheet doesn't specify a maximum voltage for the EN pin, ROHM recommends keeping the voltage below 6V to ensure reliable operation. Exceeding 6V may cause damage to the internal circuitry.
  • While the IMB3AT110 is rated for operation up to 125°C, ROHM recommends derating the output current and voltage to ensure reliable operation in high-temperature environments. Consult ROHM's application notes for specific derating guidelines.
  • To troubleshoot oscillations or instability in the output voltage, check the PCB layout for proper decoupling, ensure the input voltage is within the recommended range, and verify that the output capacitor is of sufficient value and type. If issues persist, consult ROHM's application notes or contact their technical support team.
